The Battle of Little Bighorn

An unforgettable account of Custer's last stand!

The battle of the Little Big Horn was the last stand of General George Armstrong Custer, a highly decorated Civil War hero. It has become one of history's most recognized battles, and marked the death of one of the most colorful characters in the U.S. cavalry.

Custer was desperate to win a victory on the battlefield and restore his flagging reputation. Ignoring his orders, he attacked an encampment of Sioux and Cheyenne Indians along the Rosebud River in Montana, only to find that the Indians outnumbered him three to one. Eventually meeting in battle along the bank of the Little Big Horn river, Custer and the seventh cavalry where annihilated by the larger Indian force.

The Battle of the Little Big Horn represented the most decisive Indian victory in the long conflict between Native Americans and the ever-expanding young United States. It would be short-lived, however, as the US mobilized more troops to fight in the Indian wars.

This DVD features stunning re-enactments, new footage of the Little Big Horn battlefield as it is today, expert commentary from battlefield guides, and period imagery. Narrated by Michael Leighton.
